Tutorial 07
In this week's tutorials, we are nearly done with the Ruby 2D game. We just need to add audio to the game to make it more interactive and fun to play. The music in a game makes it enjoyable and the players love whenever there is good music in a game. The audio tutorial was straightforward and easy to follow as there was not much to do. It is just about adding the audio to the game. I learnt that we had to attach the music we downloaded as an mp3 to the camera in the game because we want it to play throughout the game and never stop. Then after adding the audio into the hierarchy and adjusting its settings, including the loop, the volume, and the pitch, I had to add coding into the ruby controller, and the health scripts to get it to play. The last thing I had to do is to set up the game and build it up on unity so as to play it and let others play it. I am so happy that the tutorials are done now and that I can focus on the project 2D game of my own now because I struggled a lot in this 2D Ruby game but I learnt a lot from it that I will implement some of the things I have learnt into my own 2d unity game.
Reading 07
In this week's reading task, we are assigned to write at least six paragraphs on our chosen topic. Each paragraph has to include a minimum of 5 sentences, including an intro sentence, a conclusion sentence, and at least one supporting sentence. Each one in the class is assigned to read two other pieces and has to comment on them. We have to read them carefully and see if the included everything that is mentioned above and if not, we have to write what's missing and what is not so as to let help them make changes and make it look better. I was assigned to read Mimi's and Mary's chapters. I have read them carefully and I thought they were clear, included all the elements except for the sources they had. They were very little and I think there should be more in order to support their chapters and what they included in them. I found it easy to write my chapter after the first couple of weeks researching and following the steps that were included in the reading tasks to help with writing our chapter. At the beginning, I struggled a little bit but then it got easier and all those weeks of researching and gathering sources made it easier to write my chapter.

Tutorial 06
This week's tutorials for the Ruby 2D game were adding visuals for the game to make it look more professional an fancier so that the players can interact with the game and find it more fun to play. The visual we had to apply is Ruby's health bar so that while playing we can see when are we losing. It was easy and simple to add the health bar but we had to adjust the size of it then for the health bar to be less whenever Ruby hits something and loses life, we had to do a script for it. The second tutorial was even easier than the first one as the task was to add a new character, which was the frog. We had to create a sprite first then add it to the game scene. This was way easier than the first I even didn't need to follow every instruction for this tutorial because we already knew what we were supposed to do as we did that in the beginning of creating the Ruby 2D game. I still have some issues with my game from the previous tutorials but hopefully by the end of the game, I figure them out and the game would be played perfectly and I will enjoy it.

Project Progress
This week, which is week 6 of the second semester, we are starting the first part of the project. We are researching and planning what our game is going to be and how we are going to create it using unity. I started this week by researching tutorials that would help in creating the game and that I think are not too complicated because I prefer it to be simple and easy to create because last semester I started creating a game and added lots of scripts and tried to make it complicated and challenging but that didn't work and I had to do it again because while adding everything something happened and the game crashed so I had to create another game but much more simpler. For this semester, I will create a game that is similar to a shooting game. The game will have a character and enemies. The main character has to kill the enemies that keeps appearing using bombs. The enemies will have a bar of life above them so that we know when they are dead. When all the enemies are dead, that is when we win the game. All the assets that I will be using for the game are in unity store and for free. The game is really simple and easy to play but fun as well. I will be using the help of the unity tutorials we are doing right now for the Ruby 2D game but hopefully my game doesn't crash like last semester and that everything goes well. This game should be easier than the last semester game we had to create since this is a 2D game and the 3D game is much harder and includes more scripts and properties not like the 2D, which is much simpler and easy to create.

Reading 06
In this week's reading task, we are supposed to start with our book by writing paragraphs from the themes we chose last week from our bibliographies. There was a video that showed how we should write the paragraphs. Basically, we need to start writing four to six paragraphs and each paragraph must include a these statement, content sentences about my topic, and a conclusion sentence. Each paragraph should include at least five sentences about my topic. I started gathering information from my bibliographies and the themes that I wrote last week. I wrote four paragraphs using sentences from my bibliographies and themes while also adding information on my own words. I somehow paraphrased my themes and bibliographies in a formal and presentable way. I was confused last week on how to write the themes but then when I started writing the first theme everything came along and it was not confusing anymore. I hope the next couple of weeks we would not have too much work for the reading tasks because we need to start with our 2D game and get it done before week 9. I also hope that what I have for the reading is good and enough so far and that my matrix and research method are correct because I can not wait to be a part of the book that is going to be published.

Tutorial 05
In this week's unity tutorial, I struggled a bit at the start of it because when it asked for importing a package, which is the cinemachine, it didn't appear on my packages and then I realized that I clicked on the wrong button in packages but then I found it. This week's tutorials are way easier and more fun than the others because there wasn't too much coding or information you had to do. While I was doing the tutorial and almost half way done with it, I found where my character is because the last two weeks I kept saying in the blog that I had the issue of Ruby disappearing while I am in game mode but now I found it and it appears when I play; however, I have a new issue this week, which has to do with the smoke particles I had to add for the enemy. I did it and followed the steps but it wasn't appearing when I zoom in with the camera or the game mode as if the particles are way bigger than the character. When I zoom out the particles appear but when I go into game mode it disappears and that is really annoying but hopefully next week I figure out the issue like I did this week.

Doing
In this week's reading task, we should start coding our resources and choosing five themes in the end but with following a certain process. I watched the video before starting because I had no idea what is coding a source. It was interesting but the process is honestly hard to do and I was confused at the beginning but then I started doing it step by step and I think it is fine. I still have to figure out some steps in the process but I think it is fine now. Hopefully, it gets easier in the next couple of weeks. I have all my resources ready except for one but I annotated every source I got from google and google scholar. I found some books, articles, and websites that talks about the core elements of game design as this topic is broad but whenever I am searching and start annotating, I try to narrow it down to keep it simple and clear. The reading tasks are somehow complicated and I wish they were easier because it is hard to follow all the steps correctly but I guess by time it gets easier and by practice it gets better and clearer.

Tutorial 04
This week's tutorial was confusing and a lot to do even though it was just two tutorials and overall 120 minutes. There were a lot of scripts but I have learnt how to add animation and projectiles, which was interesting and I liked doing the animations. I mentioned last week in the blog post that I had some issues in my 2D game and that I couldn't figure out the issue so I just gave up and left it as it is. This week, while following the steps of the tutorial, I found the problem in the scripts and I fixed it. I started reviewing the scripts after every tutorial because I always forget a code or type a capital letter instead of lowercase. The only issue I have now is that the character Ruby disappears whenever I am in game mode. I still can not figure out what's the problem and when did it happen so as to go back to this certain step. I hope by the next couple of weeks, I can figure out what is the mistake I made so that I could fix it and actually see Ruby, the character, in the game while playing it.
